Cops: Woman killed in crash in Center Moriches
A Center Moriches woman died Saturday when her car left the road and struck a tree in her community, Suffolk County Police said.
Erin Reed, 26, of Railroad Avenue, was heading south on Wading River Road about 8:15 a.m. when her 2010 Nissan Altima crashed.
She was later pronounced dead at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue.
Her vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said.
It was not immediately clear what caused the accident, and police are asking anyone with information on the incident to call Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752.
A woman who identified herself as Reed's aunt declined to comment, saying that the death was hard on their family.
