Motorcyclist killed in Fort Salonga crash, police say
A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night when a truck turned in front of him on Route 25A in Fort Salonga, police said.
Robert Doyle, 38, of Northport, died at the scene, police said.
Doyle was headed east on his 2000 Kawasaki motorcycle when the crash occurred on Hastings Drive at 8:18 p.m., Suffolk County police said.
Police said Robert Immel, 40, of Vero Beach, Fla., was turning left onto Route 25A from Hastings in his 1995 GMC truck when the crash occurred. He was not injured, police said. He also was not charged.
Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check.
