Suffolk County police have identified a pedestrian who was hit and killed by a car in Medford on Jan. 4.

Saul Lozada, 29, of Patchogue, was crossing North Ocean Avenue on foot at the intersection of Masonic Avenue when he was struck by a Honda Civic going south around 10:20 p.m., police said in a statement. He was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.

Suffolk police, who had asked for the public's help in identifying the victim of the crash, identified Lozado on Wednesday evening, just hours after the department had released a sketch of the victim.

The driver of the Honda Civic was not hurt and the two passengers in the car were treated for minor injuries, police said.
