Suffolk police arrested an Amityville man Monday and charged him with robbing a bank in East Farmingdale more than six months ago.

Police said Edward Hardy, 33, walked into an M&T Bank in East Farmingdale on the afternoon of Jan. 17, handed a teller a note and demanded cash.

Hardy, police said, left the bank at 120 Broad Hollow Rd. with the cash, an amount police did not disclose.

"We don't give out the amount of the proceeds," a police department spokeswoman said.

Hardy is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on third-degree robbery in First District Court in Central Islip.
