Suffolk police detectives Tuesday identified a North Amityville woman who was reported missing a day earlier, the homicide squad said in a news release.
The missing woman was identified as Mandy Jo Jenkins, 30, formerly of West Babylon, police said.
A man, 31, who lives in an apartment in a warehouse on Seabro Avenue called police Monday shortly after 7 a.m. and said his girlfriend had disappeared a couple of hours earlier, police said.
Detectives say they believe there may have been a struggle at the scene before Jenkins disappeared.
"We're investigating this as a missing person under suspicious circumstances," Det. Lt. Gerard Pelkofsky, commander of the Homicide Squad, said late Monday.
Pelkofsky said yesterday morning that the disappearance remains suspicious.
Crime Scene investigators were dispatched to the warehouse to look for evidence, police said. The warehouse stores Halloween-themed merchandise.
