Suffolk County police are trying to determine who shot a man in the leg Sunday night outside a North Amityville house party.

First Squad detectives said Monday they are investigating the shooting of Jamar Ambrose, 23, who was wounded in the leg while attending a party on Avon Drive.

Police said Ambrose, of Copiague, was standing outside the house at about 7:10 when he was shot.

He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said in a news release.
