VOTING

6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Earl L. Vandermeulen High School.

THE BUDGET

The district proposes a $42,397,368 budget for 2015-16, a 5.13 percent increase from the current $40,326,848. The local tax levy would increase 1.62 percent, from $34,092,063 to $34,644,427. The increase equals the state's tax cap of 1.62 percent.

There will be no step increases for teachers, district officials said, but there will be a 1 percent raise totaling about $650 for educators. The district does not plan to reduce the size of its staff. Rather, it plans to add 5.5 staff members, including two teachers for children who are learning English.

Voters also will decide on a referendum to create a capital reserve fund, funded by district's year-end budget excesses. Voter approval will not result in a tax increase.
