Sound Beach man riding motor bike is victim of hit and run, police say
A Sound Beach man who was riding a motor bike in his hometown was struck by a motorist who fled Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk detectives said, adding that the victim suffered a broken leg in the crash.
Seventh Squad detectives said Kyle Fiore, 18, was riding a motor bike on Jamaica Drive when he was struck by a car at Deer Road shortly before 5 p.m. The car was described as a light-colored sedan, police said.
Fiore was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was treated for a broken femur and other non-life-threatening injuries and the bike was impounded for a safety check.
The investigation is continuing and police ask anyone with information about the incident to call Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
