Want to see the future of elections in Suffolk? Visit suffolkvotes.com and you can see how the county's new voting machines, which get their first full use in the Sept. 14 primary, will work.

The site includes a video, in English and Spanish, with step-by-step explanation of how to use the new machines, as well as a separate video for disabled voters, showing how machine features, designed especially for them, will work. In addition, the website, funded by the federal Help America Vote Act, will allow voters to register to vote online, get absentee ballots, check their prior registrations, and find their polling locations. - Rick Brand
