Suffolk officers revive man choking on food in Huntington steak house

A man whose heart stopped after he choked on food in a Huntington steakhouse on Saturday night was revived by two police officers, Suffolk County police said.
Police said they received a 911 call at about 7:45 p.m. reporting a man choking at Sur Argentinian Steakhouse on New York Avenue.
When Officer David Weymouth arrived, he found an 80-year-old Dix Hills man who was choking.
Police said Weymouth began the Heimlich maneuver, but the victim suddenly went into cardiac arrest and lost consciousness. The man's internal defibrillator began shocking him in an attempt to restart his heart, police said.
Officer Pete O'Brien also arrived at the restaurant and began helping Weymouth by starting chest compressions, police said.
The officers were able to clear his airway, and the man regained consciousness, according to police. He was taken to Huntington Hospital for evaluation.
