Teen critically hurt in Copiague dirt bike crash, police say

A teenager riding a dirt bike on a Copiague roadway was seriously injured Friday night when he collided with an SUV, Suffolk County Police said.
Alexander Collado, 15, of Copiague, was on an unregistered 2004 Yamaha dirt bike when he hit a 2005 Toyota sport utility vehicle driven by Jose Munozcarbajal, who was making a left turn from westbound Oak Street to go south on Deauville Boulevard about 8:05 p.m., police said.
Collado was airlifted by Suffolk County police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Munozcarbajal, 22, of Massapequa, was not injured.
Criminality is not suspected, police said. First squad detectives are investigating.
