They are the definition of dominance. In Suffolk girls track over the last two decades, it doesn’t get any better than Bay Shore. Steve Borbet’s bunch has won 23 consecutive league championships and 12 of the last 13 Suffolk large school titles.

Last season was no different. Bay Shore won the League II title, topping Connetquot 123-85. A week later, the Marauders nearly doubled up the second-place finisher in route to the large school county title.

Now that’s dominance.

Bay Shore returns a number of key athletes from that championship team. Anisa Toppin earned All-American status in the triple jump after flying 39 feet and one-quarter inch at the New Balance Nationals in March. Toppin won the large school championship in the same event, flying 38 feet, nine and three quarters of an inch last February.

Imani McGhee joins Toppin as a top jumper. McGhee finished third at the large school championships last season, jumping 36 feet, 10 and a quarter inches.

This season, the two have started out strong. Toppin placed third in the long jump at the Bishop Loughlin Games, jumping 18 feet, three inches. McGhee was fourth in the event, going 17 feet, 11 inches.

Patrice Baston will also jump for Bay Shore. She went 33 feet, 10 inches in the triple jump at the Bishop Loughlin Games.

Aviana Goode and Erica Silhan will pace the Marauders in the hurdles. Goode won the large school 55-hudle title last season in 8.76 seconds. She ran an 8.71 at the Bishop Loughlin Games.

The middle distance crew will be led by Jacqueline Anderson, Cesia Andrade, and Nia McCaslin. Anderson placed second in the 600 at last season’s large school championships in 1:43.46. McCaslin was fifth in the large school 1000 in 3:09.70.

Anderson ran a 1:41.66 and Andrade ran a 1:44.07 in the 600 at the Bishop Loughlin Games.
