Butler drives in winning run for E. Rockaway
Molly Butler singled home Jessica Cerasoli in the bottom of the eighth inning as East Rockaway edged Cold Spring Harbor, 10-9, Monday in Nassau Conference BC softball.
Cara Camerada's two-run single with two outs in the seventh tied the score at 9 and capped a six-run rally for the Rocks (7-1). Kerrianne Vulpis had a homer and three RBIs for East Rockaway.
Farmingdale 3, Island Trees 2: Kerri Ossenfort's RBI triple in the top of the ninth broke a tie for Farmingdale (6-3) in non-league. Winning pitcher Isabella Corrao threw a three-hitter, striking out a career-high 20 and walking only one.
Baldwin 6, Sewanhaka 4: Katie Greene scored the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth on a squeeze by Jackie Fischer to give Baldwin (10-1) a 5-4 lead non-league.
Sayville 8, Bayport-Blue Point 3: Kathleen Maehr had three hits and four RBIs, and Marissa Selts was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Sayville (6-2) in non-league.East Islip 9, Riverhead 3: Elizabeth Hand had a homer and four RBIs, and Alyssa Groneman went 3-for-4 with two runs for East Islip (7-1) in League III. Kelsey Fileccia had two hits and two RBIs in the win.
Mount Sinai 10, Pierson/Bridgehampton 0: Holly Drasser threw a three-hitter with 13 strikeouts and a walk, and Lindsay Dembinski added a homer and four RBIs for Mt. Sinai (7-1) in a League VII/VIII crossover game.Holy Trinity 12, St. Mary's 2: Kayla Rizzi threw a no-hitter, walked one and struck out six in a five-inning game for Holy Trinity (5-5) in CHSAA. Victoria Dlessandro and Nikole Barbato each went 2-for-4.
