Corrigan's 26 spark Westhampton victory
Michael Corrigan scored 10 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter to help Westhampton overcome a double-digit deficit for a 70-65 win in a League VI boys basketball game Thursday.
Senior Jesse Schultz added 19 points, a career-high 17 rebounds and a three-point play with 1:14 left that gave Westhampton (3-2) a 64-63 lead.
Nick Grant chipped in 15 points, including back-to-back three-pointers during a 27-10 fourth for Westhampton, which trailed 55-43 after three quarters.
Floyd 62, Commack 59:Malik Dennis scored off a steal with 1:25 left to give Floyd (5-0) a two-point lead in League I. Anthony White had 21 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, Aaron Willis had 12 point and Shabazz Thompkins chipped in 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Colonials. Dillon Hertel had 22 points for Commack.
Central Islip 61, Bay Shore 56: Reginald Augustus had 20 points and three steals to lead Central Islip (4-1) in League II. Tim McKenzie added 15 points and 13 rebounds and Derrick Franklin had 13 points and five assists. Devin Farmer scored 16 points and Ken Barnes had 12 of his 14 points in the first half for Bay Shore.East Islip 60, Newfield 31: Evan Maxwell had 23 points and 16 rebounds and Brian Johnson added 16 points for East Islip (4-1) in League III. Hauppauge 59, Comsewogue 43: Jon Velazquez scored 16 of his 24 points in the second half and Kyle Sutryk added 18 points to lead Hauppauge (2-2) in League IV. Ken Scotland had 19 points for Comsewogue.East Hampton 60, Glenn 47: Sophomore Thomas King scored 14 of his career-high 35 points in a 25-8 fourth quarter to lead East Hampton (1-4) in League V. King hit five threes and added seven rebounds in the win.Islip 67, Eastport-South Manor 57: Fabian MacDonald had 21 points, five steals and five assists and David Powell added 17 points and eight assists to lead Islip (4-1) in League V. Nick Gratto had 18 points for Eastport-South Manor.Amityville 67, Shoreham-Wading River 60: Dejuhan Grey had 13 points and eight rebounds, Billy Heenan had 12 points and seven rebounds and Richie Hobson had 12 points and eight assists to lead Amityville (5-0) in League VI. Ryan McAlary had 21 points for Shoreham-Wading River.Port Jefferson 69, Pierson 45: Terrell Rose scored 13 of his 18 points in the first half and Greg Nielsen added 12 points to lead Port Jefferson (2-1) in League VIII.Mepham 47, Carey 42: Dan Kaminsky hit a jumper and Kyle Wechsler sank a pair of free throws in overtime as Mepham (1-5) outscored Carey 5-0 in the extra session for its first Conference AA-III win of the season. Jordan Gilroy led all scorers with 13 points, including seven in the fourth quarter to help erase a five-point deficit for Mepham. Lawrence 65, Bethpage 35: Samson Bialastok scored 12 points and had seven rebounds, Eddie Robinson had 12 points and eight assists and Ahmad Shamseldin added 12 points, four steals and four assists to lift Lawrence (3-2) in Conference A-II. Waldorf 56, Knox 24: Sean Proctor had 15 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists and Brandon Verise-Kohan scored 19 points and added six rebounds to lead Waldorf (7-0) in IPPSAL.Dwight 68, Lawrence Woodmere 57: Jamal Benn had 25 points and Jerome Hayden had 24 points and six assists for Lawrence Woodmere (8-2) in non-league action.

Valley Stream District 766, Massapequa 732: Danielle Cuomo and Jumell Wilson each shot a 194 to lead Valley Stream District (15-0). The 766 for Valley Stream District ties the Nassau County air rifle record they set earlier this season. Alec Altman shot a 187 and Chris Esposito shot a 182 to lead Massapequa.
