Lindsey Dinowitz's two-run homer put No. 3 East Rockaway ahead in the top of the seventh en route to an 8-7 win over No. 2 Locust Valley on Friday in the clinching second game of the Nassau Class B softball semifinals at Mitchel Athletic Complex.

Cara Camerada was 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run for East Rockaway (14-6). The Rocks will face Carle Place in the best-of-three finals beginning at 4 p.m. Monday.

Carle Place 10, Oyster Bay 0: Ashley Cole threw a two-hitter, walked none and struck out 14 to lead No. 1 Carle Place (16-2-1) over No. 4 Oyster Bay in a Class B semifinal. Cole also had a homer and two RBIs. Taylor Ruscillo went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Leanne Iannucci was 2-for-2 and Amanda Machado went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs.

Smithtown East 4, Smithtown West 3: Francesca Busa scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth to win it after she tripled for Smithtown East (12-7) in Suffolk League III. Busa was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Mackenzie Buckley went 2-for-3 with a run and RBI. Maggie Engellenner's RBI double had tied it at 3 in the sixth for Smithtown East.

Sachem East 2, Commack 1: Jessica Caruana singled in Michelle Quattrock in the seventh inning to give Sachem East (14-5) a 2-1 lead in League I. Kristen Bagley's sacrifice fly scored Lindsey Treanor to tie the score earlier in the inning. Treanor allowed four hits and struck out six in a complete game.

Bay Shore 2, Connetquot 1: Briana Coan's two-run double in the first put Bay Shore (19-0) up 2-0 in League II. Taylor McGowan pitched a three-hitter, allowing no earned runs, with five strikeouts and no walks. Bay Shore, which finished 20-0 overall, completed its 10th undefeated season and its 21st with 20-plus wins, according to coach Jim McGowan.

Northport 4, Lindenhurst 0: Molly Jarrett threw a four-hitter, walked one and struck out 11 and went 2-for-2 with two walks and Michelle Williams hit a two-run single in the top of the second inning for Northport (10-9) in League II. Northport clinched a playoff berth with the win.

Half Hollow Hills West 6, Comsewogue 1: Senior Alyssa Bitsimis pitched a three-hitter with no walks and seven strikeouts to lead Hills West, which finished 19-1 and set a school record for wins in a season. With the victory, Hills West also became the League IV champion. Marissa Kelly was 2-for-4 on the day with three RBIs. The first round of the Suffolk softball playoffs begins Tuesday.

Babylon 5, Center Moriches 4: Jillian Jacinph hit a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth that put Babylon (15-3) ahead 5-3 and helped the team become co-League VII champion. Christine Desiderio and Brianna Goodfellow had two hits apiece in the win.

Our Lady of Mercy 5, St. Dominic 0: Anna Petrucci was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Nicole Reda was 2-for-4 with two runs scored to lead No. 3 Our Lady of Mercy (11-7) over No. 6 St. Dominic (6-12) in the CHSAA softball quarterfinals. Samantha Sauer allowed five hits, two walks and struck out three in a complete game. Our Lady of Mercy will host No. 2 St. Anthony's next in a best-of-three semifinal round starting at 11 a.m. Saturday.
