Here’s the biggest groan-inducing press release headline of the day, courtesy of the Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano’s press office: “Hurricane Earl Knocks Three Times (TONY ORLANDO CONCERT POSTPONED).”

That’s right, the Tony Orlando concert scheduled for tomorrow at Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park has been rescheduled to Sept. 8 due to Earl’s impending arrival east of Long Island tomorrow. While the storm isn’t expected to hit the Island head-on, it will bring rain and strong winds, and officials across the area are taking significant precautions.

“My number one concern is the safety of our residents, and Mr. Orlando has very graciously agreed to postpone his performance for that reason,” Mangano said in the release. “We encourage all residents to stay indoors until the hurricane passes, then join us on September 8th for this much anticipated concert.”

The free concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.
