Tryouts for the 2010 Long Island Empire State Games for the scholastic  team coached by Commack's Bruce Haller will be held  Wednesday June 16 from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday June 19 from  9-11 a.m. at Commack High School.
A third tryout will also be held on June 24 from 7-9 p.m. at Farmingdale State College. Eligible girls may attend any one or all of the tryouts. New York residents who will be under the age of 18 on August 31, 2010 are eligible. A team of 10 girls will be selected by July 1 to represent Long Island.
All players must preregister online at www.empirestategames.org and bring a waiver signed by their guardian to be eligible to tryout.
Girls basketball will be played at Niagara University, July 21-25.
