Four Long Island teams begin quest for Fed crown

Four teams from Long Island will attempt to win state Federation basketball championships beginning Friday in Glens Falls.
Long Island Lutheran will try to win its second consecutive boys basketball Class A crown and is the lone boys team from Long Island. Three girls teams will represent the Island and all are aiming for their first Federation championship.
Lutheran makes it second consecutive trip to Glens Falls, St. Anthony's makes its first since 1987 and Sachem East makes its first appearance since 1995, when the Flaming Arrows lost to Christ the King in the final.
