National Park Week will be celebrated with free programs and activities at Sagamore Hill National Historic Site starting Saturday and continuing through April 29.

Junior Ranger Day will take place Saturday with the addition of the Bunny Ranger for children ages 4-7.

A new ranger-guided walk program in Oyster Bay hamlet will launch Sunday and continue the following Sunday.

Tours will begin at 3 p.m. at the Christ Episcopal Church parking lot on East Main Street.

The subject is the funeral of Theodore Roosevelt, and the tour will visit the church where Roosevelt worshipped regularly and where his funeral was held as well as the final resting place of Theodore and Edith Roosevelt. The program is expected to last about one hour and will be held rain or shine.

Folk guitarist Johnny Cuomo will perform Sunday at 2 and 3 p.m. at the park. The rain date for Cuomo is the following Sunday.

There will also be an Earth Day appearance Sunday by Theodore Roosevelt as portrayed by James Foote from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rain date is the following Sunday.

The week’s activities will wrap up next Sunday with a presentation about national parks from First Light Photography. For more information, call 516-922-4788.
