Friends of the Edgewood Preserve in Deer Park is taking advantage of Saturday night’s “supermoon” by leading a Full Moon Hike/Walk from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Edgewood Oak Brush Plains Preserve, off Commack Road in Deer Park.

The event is limited to the first 12 people who register. Participants are asked to dress warmly and wear solid hiking boots or walking shoes, and bring a small flashlight. Rain and cloudy conditions cancel hike.

For more information, call 631-242-7402 or e-mail patricia@friendsofedgewoodpreserve.org.

Also, the organization is hosting its sixth annual Earth Day at Edgewood on April 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. On that day volunteers will help spruce up hiking trails, pick up litter from the parking lot and more.

All events that take place at Edgewood Oak Brush Plains Preserve are free of charge, and originate in the parking area, near the information kiosk.
