Gerrato leads South Side boys lacrosse
Bryan Gerrato scored his fourth goal of the game -- the winner -- with two seconds left in the second overtime to lift South Side in an 8-7 win over Hewlett on Friday in non-league boys lacrosse.
Zach Scaduto had two goals, including a score off an assist from Kevin Waxon with a little more than two minutes left in the fourth quarter to tie the score at 7 for the Cyclones, who overcame a 4-0 deficit in the second quarter. Dominic Moriarity had 10 saves for South Side.
Clarke 11, Glen Cove 10: Shane Lauria scored four goals, Shane Questel had two goals and Anthony Gomes had a goal and four assists for Clarke in non-league.
Massapequa 13, Long Beach 7: Dan Muller scored the go-ahead goal eight minutes into the third quarter to give Massapequa an 8-7 lead in Conference I. Timmy Maisch picked up seven ground balls in the win.
Calhoun 14, Valley Stream Central 5: Joe McGinley and Charlie Isham each scored four goals and Matt Lemonis made eight saves to lead Calhoun in Conference I.
Port Washington 11, Uniondale 7: Jake Froccaro had four goals and two assists and John Crawley two goals and three assists for Port Washington in Conference I.
Floyd 10, East Hampton 9: D.J. Allen (five goals) scored off Luke Miller's assist with 7 minutes remaining to give Floyd a 10-8 lead in non-league. Miller had a goal and five assists and Connor Hudson was 17-for-20 on faceoffs for Floyd.
Islip 16, Half Hollow Hills West 6: Joe Sciara had five goals and an assist to lead Islip in non-league. Kieran Mullins added four goals and two assists.
Smithtown West 16, Sachem East 5: Junior Matt Schultz scored a career-high seven goals, James Pannell had three goals and four assists and senior Ryan Joseph had a goal and a career-high six assists for Smithtown West in Division I.
Sachem North 14, Syosset 7: Dalton Crossan had three goals and one assist, Tim Lang had a goal and four assists and goalkeeper Tim Matos made eight saves to lead North in non-league.
