The Glen Cove City Council has increased the fees for shooting commercial films and photographs in the community.
On Monday night, the council raised the fees from $1,000 to $1,500 per day for shooting movies, $500 to $750 per day for shooting commercials and $200 to $250 for shooting still photographs.
A new fee of $500 a day was added for shooting music videos. The city has the option to waive fees for nonprofit organizations and amateurs under the resolution.
“Glen Cove has become very popular because we’re within 50 miles of the city,” Mayor Ralph Suozzi said. “But we’ve been underpricing ourselves” compared with other municipalities surveyed on Long Island, he said.
