Gomez's late layup leads Deer Park girls

Nicole Gomez's layup with 11 seconds left pushed Deer Park over Wyandanch, 64-63, last night in non-league girls basketball.

Andrea Desvignes and Shayna Robinson each scored 15 points and Kelsey Dillon had 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Falcons (5-0). Coach Mike Gennaro notched his 100th career victory.

Lineker St. Hilaire scored 19 points and DeJanae Mike had 16 for Wyandanch.

Kings Park 60, Smithtown West 32: Brittany Mueller had 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Kings Park (5-1) in non-league. Daniele Buoncore had 10 points and five assists for Kings Park.

Sachem East 41, Kellenberg 36: Meagan Doherty had 14 points and five rebounds to lead Sachem East (2-1) in non-league. Carly O'Boyle had 12 points in defeat for Kellenberg.

Garden City 61, Jericho 25: Freshman Taylor Carpentier scored a career-high 10 points and added seven rebounds to lead Garden City (1-1) in Nassau Conference A-I. Jess Stein added 10 points and three assists.

Lynbrook 56, Lawrence 28: Brooke Gerstman had 17 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals to lead Lynbrook (1-0) in Conference A-II. Maria Randazzo added 12 points and Jen Faye had 10 points and 11 rebounds. Farrah Desvarieux scored 15 points for Lawrence.

St. Mary's 39, Westbury 21: Jasmine Bryant had 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead St. Mary's (5-5) in the consolation game of the Baldwin Holiday Tournament. Elizabeth Durchalter added eight points and five assists and was named to the All-Tournament team. Naja Bomani scored six points for Westbury.

Achraf Yacoubou added 19 points and two steals, Shaun Lawton had 18 points and seven assists and Mike Florin had 16 points and seven assists. Steve Johnson scored 21 points for St. Luke's.

Eastport-South Manor 52, Mattituck 43: Daulton McCarthy had 14 points and eight rebounds to lead ESM (6-1) in non-league. Curtis Smith had 13 points and five assists and Joe Gonzalez had nine points and 12 rebounds for ESM. Tom Ascher scored 18 points for Mattituck.

Herricks 67, Garden City 57: Sudheer Nuggehalli had 18 points, three rebounds and two steals to lead Herricks (3-2) in non-league. Chris Guglielmi added 14 points and eight rebounds, George Malonoukos added 12 points, 12 rebounds and seven steals and Andrew Fellus had 10 points and 12 assists.

Freeport 60, Calhoun 37: Anthony Durham had 16 points and Jere Brown added 11 points and four steals to lead Freeport (6-0) in non-league.

Massapequa 68, Port Washington 39: Christopher Husmann had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead Massapequa (2-1) in Conference AA-I.
