Great Neck gym to give $120G for Town of North Hempstead parking lot

A Great Neck fitness center will give the Town of North Hempstead $120,000 toward building a new parking lot next to a town park in exchange for periodic use of the lot.

Under the license agreement, approved by the town board at its Tuesday night meeting, Equinox Great Neck at 90 E. Shore Rd. will fund the creation of a new parking lot at Manhasset Valley Park, and in exchange will have the ability to use 60 of the spots during certain four-hour periods for 10 years.

The fitness center will also have the option to extend its use of the lot twice, for 10 years each time, by paying the fair market value for using the space, according to the agreement.
