Hampton Bays firefighters out of hospital
Two firefighters hospitalized after they fell through the floor of a burning house in Hampton Bays on Monday morning are home with their families, the Hampton Bays fire chief said Thursday.
Lewis Scott, 36, and Shay Lohr, 32, were treated at Stony Brook University Medical Center's Burn Center. Fire Chief Stefan Borell said in the news release that they have returned home.
Scott is a patrol sergeant with the Town of Southampton police; Lohr is a masonry contractor.
They were among five volunteer firefighters injured in the early morning blaze on Quail Run.
Southampton's fire marshal was investigating the fire's cause.
