Dieting is easier in a group
New research suggests that losing weight is easier in a group, according to a study published Oct. 9 in the journal Obesity. "Group-based weight-loss treatment produced weight loss, whether delivered by a professional or peer counselor," said Angela Marinilli Pinto of Baruch College of the City University of New York, who added that when people diet in a group, they feel, 'OK, this worked for him or her, perhaps it will work for me.' "
