Health Tip: Don't Give Raw Milk to Children
Raw milk that has not been pasteurized or homogenized can harbor harmful germs.
The American Academy of Pediatrics offers these recommendations to parents:
- Never give raw milk or dairy products that contain raw milk to children.
- Check product labels to make sure they use pasteurized milk.
- Store pasteurized dairy products in the refrigerator at a temperature of 40 degrees Fahrenheit or lower.
- Throw away any dairy products with expired "best by" dates.
