Health Tip: Dress Kids in Safe Halloween Costumes
Halloween costumes may be scary and spooky, but they should still be safe. Parents should make sure costumes don't obstruct vision or increase the risk of falls.
The Safekids.org website offers these suggestions:
- Select costumes and treat bags that are light in color, and decorate them with reflective tape.
- Skip the mask and opt for face paint instead.
- Make sure every child carries a flashlight or glow stick.
- Choose costumes that fit properly and aren't too long.
