As you near the end of your pregnancy, the aches, pains and general discomforts may worsen.

The American Academy of Family Physicians offers this advice to help lessen the burden:

  • To ease constipation, talk to your doctor about taking a stool softener.
  • For carpal tunnel syndrome, wear wrist splints to bed.
  • For hip, back or pelvic pain, sleep with a pillow behind your back.
  • Call your doctor if you have unusual vaginal discharge or bleeding, unusual swelling or decreased fetal movement.
