Everyone is emotional at one time or another. But you can manage your emotions in a healthy way.

The American Academy of Family Physicians offers these suggestions:

  • Don't get carried away by a powerful emotion. Instead, stop and think before you act or speak.
  • Make time for things that make you happy, and stay focused on the positive things in your life.
  • Avoid drugs and alcohol, get regular exercise and plenty of sleep, and eat a nutritious diet.
