A slippery floor in the bathroom is all it takes to end up on your back with a broken bone or bad sprain.

Womenshealth.gov suggests how to help prevent falls in the bathroom:

  • Make sure there are grab bars next to the toilet, and both inside and outside the tub or shower.
  • Put carpeting or nonslip strips or mats on any place that's prone to getting wet.
  • Keep nightlights on in the bathroom.
