Health Tip: Secondhand Smoke Puts Babies at Risk
Babies are particularly sensitive to the harmful effects of secondhand smoke, researchers have found.
The University of Michigan Health System says secondhand smoke makes babies more prone to:
- Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
- Asthma.
- Decreased lung function.
- Pneumonia and bronchitis.
- Sinus problems.
- Ear infections.
