New beauty spots on the Island
Space NK at Bloomingdale's in Roosevelt Field is the 14th U.S. outpost of the popular UK beauty boutique, and founder Nicky Kinnaird was on hand for the prelaunch tours. The unique product mix is pretty much selected by Kinnaird on her world travels and hits global brands from China (Wei, known for herbals), France (loved the Huile Prodigieuse Or oil that gives just a little color to bare legs) and, of course, England (with products from celeb facialist Eve Lom.)
Face Bar
Find Repêchage's Face Bar at the beautiful new Maximus Salon in Westbury. Repêchage founder Lydia Sarfati says she's "taking facials out of the closet," with streamlined treatments done out in the open. (Not to worry. Maximus has a full-service spa area for those who like their masks, etc., in private.) But for quick fixes, say while your haircolor processes, Face Bar features 30-minute (or less) treatments ranging from a hand massage, $25, to the line-smoothing Hydra Dew Maxi Lift, $75.
