NUMC power outage ends

Power was restored to Nassau University Medical Center by 5:30 p.m. Monday after a burned out switch caused a power outage at the East Meadow hospital.

The hospital lost power at 11:15 a.m. Monday and began operating on emergency power, according to spokeswoman Shelley Lotenberg.

"The situation has not affected patient safety or quality," she said.
