Resources for residents concerned about post-Sandy health problems
Suffolk County residents and workers concerned about potential medical problems stemming from environment issues in the wake of superstorm Sandy have two resources to call, county heath officials said Friday.
They are Stony Brook Occupational and Environmental Medicine, 631-444-6250, and Long Island Occupational and Environmental Health Center, 631-289-1405.
On Wednesday Nassau County announced a partnership with three health organizations that will field questions from Nassau residents. They are: North Shore-LIJ at 855-473-6399, Winthrop-University Hospital at 516-663-8890, and Nassau University Medical Center at 516-572-5380.
Possible health concerns could include exposure to mold, as well as to water and debris contaminated with sewage, oil and other problematic substances, a Suffolk County health spokeswoman said.
