The House will not be voting on the 9/11 health bill this week after all, but its sponsors said Monday they'll work to make sure there's a vote next week.

The expected vote on the bill to provide extended care to survivors and first responders ailing from the 9/11 attack site was put off after the House postponed its workweek by a day, until Tuesday.

"We are disappointed that the 9/11 health bill will not be coming up for a vote in the House this week," said Reps. Carolyn Maloney and Jerrold Nadler, both Democrats from Manhattan, in a statement Monday. "But we are working with the Democratic leadership to ensure that there will be a vote next week."
