Huntington residents vote today on Woodhull expansion
Residents in the Huntington school district vote tonight on a referendum to spend $2 million in capital reserve funds to build an addition to Woodhull Intermediate School. The money would be used to add five to seven classrooms, two bathrooms and a hallway.
The expansion would address longstanding space constraints at Woodhull due to increased enrollment; officials say it is not related to the recent closing of the Jack Abrams School.
Woodhull will have 694 students this fall, up from 519 last year.
Polls close at 9 p.m.
