Kellenberg king at Nanuet Relays
The Kellenberg boys and girls track and field teams won championships at the Nanuet Relays Saturday.
James Agati was named MVP as the Firebirds won the team boys title with 58 points, finishing ahead of New Rochelle (41). Agati anchored the winning mile medley relay by clocking a 4:22.0, and the winning 800-relay, which had a time of 1:57.1.
Behind Michelle Anthony, who received MVP honors, the girls won their second straight team title, scoring 72 points. Suffern took second with 52.
Anthony anchored the shuttle hurdle relay, and her time of 45.8 set a meet record, according to coach Marty Brown. Anthony teamed with Kim McKay, Kylie Pearse and Jasmine Belcher to win 4 x 400 (4:05.0). McKay anchored the winning 4 x 800 (9:31.7) along with Ashlin Conroy, Pearse and Mary Hutchinson. Ordine Belot and Jonice Baptiste won the triple jump relay (68-0).
Barrett second.Amityville's Sancho Barrett placed second in the 110 hurdles (14.23) at the Taco Bell Invitational in Columbia, SC. Barrett's time was the fastest by a New York runner this year, according to Amityville coach Remos Hawkins.
