Lacrosse beat: Bethpage to host tripleheader
The boys and girls teams at Bethpage will share the stage with two college powerhouses as part of a tripleheader April 9 at Bethpage's new Lacrosse Stadium. At 10 p.m., the Bethpage boys will face Lawrence. At 2 p.m., defending national champion Duke will face Denver.
At 5 p.m., the Bethpage girls will play MacArthur. The Bethpage girls coach is Kate Danowski, daughter of Duke men's coach John Danowski. The new state-of-the-art athletic complex seats about 2,700. For this event, the Town of Oyster Bay will add 2,500 seats. John Danowski and Denver coach Bill Tierney both grew up in Nassau.
