Neal Patel, the owner of Life’s a Bagel across Park Avenue from the Long Beach LIRR station, said the railroad strike had been bad for business.

“It's less busy since people are not coming on the train especially on the weekend, with beautiful weather like this,” he said.

Patel said he fears a significant drop in business should the strike continues through the work week. The bagel shop, he said, gets a lot of business from LIRR commuters.

“It is going to be an impact, which is not a good sign for us,” he said.
