WINDOW SMASHED AT LI DELI

Suffolk County Police and Crime Stoppers are seeing the public's help in identifying the person responsible for breaking a window at an East Northport deli.

Police say an unknown person smashed the store front window of Deli La Union, located at 246 Larkfield Rd., on Aug 3 and then fled in a white four-door pickup truck. The vehicle is pictured above. 

Anyone with information about this crime can place an anonymous call to 1-800-220-TIPS. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

TRAFFIC AND TRANSIT

LIE. Nassau County police shut down the westbound lanes of the northside Long Island Expressway service road at Community Drive shortly before 3 p.m. due to a crash. Expect delays.

RAPE SUSPECT SEARCH. The NYPD is searching for a rape suspect with ties to Long Island. David Evanson, who an NYPD spokesman said Tuesday "has a history of arrests on Long Island," is being sought after police said he sexually assaulted a 21-year-old woman in her Brooklyn apartment Saturday.

CRASH VICTIMS IDENTIFIED. Police early Tuesday released the identities of two men killed in a head-on collision with a landscaping truck Monday afternoon in East Meadow. The victims were driver Stephen Clark, 20, and passenger Robert Treimanis, 19, both of East Meadow, Nassau County police said. 

JOSEPH BEER SENTENCED. The sole survivor of a 2012 Southern State Parkway wreck that killed four teenagers was sentenced to 5 to 15 year in prison in a Mineola courtroom Tuesday. Joseph Beer, 19, of South Richmond Hill, Queens, admitted last month that he was impaired by marijuana when he got behind the wheel.

SCHOOL LAWSUIT. A federal judge has let charges of racial discrimination by the Malverne School District go forward, but granted the district's request for separate trials for the three accusers, who are black.
