Katie Lynch had a game-high 15 points as West Hempstead held off Manhasset, 47-43, Thursday in a Nassau Conference A-V girls basketball game.

Lynch scored seven points in the fourth quarter for West Hempstead (1-5), which was outscored 15-8 in the quarter by a hard-charging Manhasset.

Nicole Christenson added 12 points and Sarah Njoku added nine points and 12 rebounds for West Hempstead.

Francesca Deluca had 14 points and Nicole Kiess chipped in seven points for Manhasset.

Farmingdale 65, Oceanside 45: Senior Kelly McPartland had 20 of her career-high 30 points and Kyra Ochwat added 12 of her season-high 20 during a 38-25 first half for Farmingdale (4-1) in Conference AA-I. McPartland added seven assists and Ochwat had eight rebounds. Allie Brooks led Oceanside with 19 points.

Mepham 70, Carey 51: Sophomore Nicole Castaldo scored 19 points and added a career-high 16 rebounds and three blocks to lead Mepham (6-0) in Conference AA-III. Sophomore Samantha Hishmeh added a career-high 14 points and Kristen O'Brien had 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Wheatley 48, Friends Academy 40: Rebecca Braito had 22 points and Ariel Fieldman had 14 points to lead Wheatley (4-1) in Conference BC. Marissa Reyes had 15 points for Friends.

Copiague 64, Centereach 45: Chelsea Williams had 22 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists and Cypher McCloud had nine points, 17 rebounds and five steals to lead Copiague (3-1) in Suffolk League III.

Riverhead 55, Smithtown West 45: Shaniece Allen scored a 24 points and Melodee Riley had 15 points, 15 rebounds and six steals to lead Riverhead (3-1) in League III. Melissa Meyers scored 16 points for Smithtown West.

Floyd 43, Commack 35: Monique Walker had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Jacklyn Andersen had 12 points to lead Floyd (3-2) in League I.Connetquot 47, Sachem North 29: Catalina Vasquez scored 14 of her 18 points in the second half and had 11 rebounds and Dana Broschart had six points and five assists for Connetquot (3-2) in League II. Danielle Levine scored 15 points for Sachem North.

North Babylon 52, Smithtown East 41: Sydney Zambrotta scored 11 points, Tamara Simpson had five points and 11 rebounds, Brianna Jones chipped in nine points and five assists and Casey Fillippone had eight points and five steals to lead North Babylon (5-0) in League III. Nicole Shevlin scored 14 points for Smithtown East.

Hauppauge 53. Comsewogue 46: Sophomore Julie Williams scored a season-high 25 points and Lindsey Alfano added 13 points to lift Hauppauge (3-1) in League IV. Cindy Edwards scored 17 points for Comsewogue.

Girls gymnastics

Lawrence 152.1, Hewlett 147.0: Nicole Caporusso won the vault with an 8.2 and took second on floor with a 9.05, Gabi Levey came in second on bars (7.8) and Taylor Luck finished second on beam (8.7) to lead Lawrence (2-4). Ali Bezalel won the all-around with a score of 35.45 for Hewlett.

Long Beach 142.75, Port Washington 135.45: Danielle Reuda won the vault (8.15), bars (8.8), beam (7.9) and all-around (32.65) to help keep Long Beach (5-0) undefeated. Mikki Morrison won the floor exercise with an 8.5 for the Mariners.

Plainview JFK 166.85, Carle Place 141.40: Eighth-grader Jordan Sack scored 34.65 all-around, winning bars (9.2) and beam (9.1) to lead Plainview JFK (6-0).
