Martorella scores OT winner for Hewlett
Sam Martorella scored the game-winner from 12 yards on an assist from Kevin Fuchs with two seconds left in overtime for Hewlett in a 7-6 win over visiting Bethpage in Conference B-II boys lacrosse Tuesday. Mark Rizzo scored on an assist from Mike Gray with 6:32 to play in the fourth quarter to tie it at 6 for Hewlett. The Bulldogs (3-1) trailed 6-3 before scoring four straight goals to close the game. Martorella finished with two goals, and Adam Betesh made 11 saves. Tom Engelhardt led Bethpage (4-2) with two goals.
Sewanhaka 8, West Hempstead 5: Senior Will Pokorny made a season-high 20 saves for Sewanhaka (3-2). David Ford and Michael Fileti each had three goals and one assist. Danny Sheeler scored two goals for West Hempstead (2-3).
Division 10, Great Neck South 9: Devin Votta scored unassisted with 4:47 left to give Division (2-3) a 10-7 lead in Conference B-I. Votta finished with two goals, and Tom Nuckel led the Blue Dragons with four goals and two assists. Tom McDevitt made 10 saves. Dan Belmont led Great Neck South (2-3) with four goals.
Ward Melville 14, Sachem North 11: Tyler Hegarty scored three goals, the last with 3:33 left in the fourth quarter, to give Ward Melville (8-1) a 13-11 lead in Division I. John Edmonds added two goals and one assist, and Jack Harvazinski and Frank Lucutuorto each scored two goals. Brandon Gamblin scored four goals for Sachem North (6-3).
Islip 8, Sayville 7: Alex Gaviria scored on a feed from Joe Sciara 43 seconds into the fourth quarter to give Islip (9-1) an 8-6 lead in Division II. John Maher scored three goals, Kevin Rafferty made 11 saves and Sciara went 8-for-13 on faceoffs. Dan Koehler and Zach Sirico each scored three goals for Sayville (5-5).
Comsewogue 13, Miller Place 8: Kevin Drane scored four goals for Comsewogue (10-0). Connor Duddy added two goals and two assists, and Doug Foley and Pat Menendez each scored two goals. Matt Liantonio made 13 saves for Miller Place (6-4).
Harborfields 13, Huntington 9: Sean Clark scored four goals and won 13 faceoffs for Harborfields (7-3). Greg FitzMaurice had three goals and two assists, and Joey Guidarelli two goals and three assists. Senior Andrew DiOrio made a season-high 17 saves. Nick Saputo led Huntington (7-3) with five goals.

St. John the Baptist 9, Kellenberg 7: Charlie Kuhn scored two goals with two assists for St. John the Baptist (4-4), which scored all of its goals in the first half. Tom O'Connor added two goals and one assist, and Joe Aufiero made eight saves. Jon Franzese led Kellenberg (2-6) with four goals.
