Dejanae Mike knows the spot - that strip of court behind the arc near the right baseline where her jumper is as close to automatic as it gets.

"I practice every day from that spot," she said. "It just falls in the most."

If Amityville had its way Saturday, it would have stripped the hardwood from the floor at Wyandanch High School.

Mike scored 30 points, including six three-pointers, to lead Wyandanch in a 70-52 offensive barrage to take the Martin Luthor King Jr. Classic.

"She was hot tonight," coach Warren Fuller said. "She shoots a lot after practice. She's had a couple of dry spells but even last practice, she was shooting for another 20 minutes after it ended."

Wyandanch (7-5) led 32-19 at the half, but Amityville took a third-quarter stand with a 9-4 run in the opening minutes. After drawing to within 41-38 on a putback by Raven Price, Amityville's bruising guard, it was Lineker St. Hilaire's turn to get in on the fun. St. Hilaire's back-to-back treys from the left side opened up a 47-38 lead with 6:29 left and Amityville never threatened again.

St. Hilaire finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds, and Mike chipped in 10 rebounds.

Price led Amityville (2-6) with 20 points.

"Raven did a phenomenal job down low," Fuller said. "She put them back in the game . . . She can be so difficult to stop."

Instead of stopping Price, they contained her and let Mike, the tournament MVP, get her looks from the righthand corner. Of Mike's six threes, four came from that sweet spot.

Indeed, Mike and St. Hilaire have come into their own this year especially, Fuller said. After losing All-Long Island guard Kim Weathers to graduation, "everyone has had to step up," Fuller said.

"Last year, we probably relied more on Kim than Kim wanted us to," he said. "On any given day, anyone can be the top scorer."

Saturday, it was Mike's day to hit the spot.
