Nassau BOCES Adult Evening Program will hold an open house on Sept. 12 at the Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center (Barry Tech), 1196 Prospect Ave. in Westbury.

The event offers the opportunity to meet and talk with instructors and tour classrooms and shops. Career counselors will also be on hand. No reservations are necessary.

The program offers courses in more than 40 fields ranging from automotive technology, cosmetology and construction trades to building analyst and exam prep.

“It is a chance to get a glimpse of the wide range of classes available to jump start your career, or learn enhanced skills for your current job,” said Rick Polansky, Adult Evening Program supervisor.

According to Polansky, some of the most popular courses are in green technologies such as solar hot water heating and photovoltaic (solar) roofing fundamentals.

A complete list of courses is available at www.adultednassau.org. Call 516-622-6950 for a free catalog or for directions to Barry Tech.
