1. Garden City (7-2)
The Trojans had their 55-game win streak snapped in a 20-9 loss to McDonogh (Md.) on Saturday and followed that with an 8-3 defeat at the hands of Bryn Mawr (Md.) on Sunday. The NY-MD Challenge didn't go as Garden City had hoped, to say the least, and their national rankings will take a hit as a result. Still, they maintain hold of Nassau's top spot. The Trojans have another big week ahead, facing league opponent Plainege on Friday and St. Anthony's on Saturday.
2. Farmingdale (7-0)
The Dalers continued to roll, coming off a nine-day layoff with a 21-7 win over MacArthur on Wednesday. Kim Kolodny had four goals and three assists, and Amanda Turturro added three goals and two assists. Farmingdale is now ranked seventh in the country, according to LaxPower.
3. Massapequa (8-1)
The Chiefs pulled themselves up a couple spots with their 16-15 double overtime win against Wantagh on Friday. Massapequa's execution was near flawless as they rallied from down 14-11 late. Danielle Doherty (five goals) scored the winner with 20 seconds left in the first OT. They've won eight straight since a loss to West Islip in the season-opener.
4. North Shore (9-1)
The Vikings offense has reached 20 in each of its last two games. Senior Amanda Johansen scored a career-high nine goals in a 20-12 win over Seaford. That could've been considered a "statement" performance, considering Seaford is arguably North Shore's biggest threat in Conference IV.
5. Wantagh (6-3)
It's a tough call, dropping Wantagh down two spots off a one-goal loss in overtime, but Massapequa deserved the bump and North Shore can't be denied. As well, the Warriors' last two losses have come to those teams (each decided by one goal). Gotta win those close games.
6. Manhasset (6-3)
The Indians followed up a tough loss to Chatham (N.J.) with a 17-8 stomping of Darien (Ct.) last week. Linsey Ronbeck scored four goals, and Julia Glynn and Natalie Stefan each had three goals and an assist in the win.
7. Seaford (8-2)
The Vikings had impressive wins over Wheatley and Carle Place last week before running into North Shore. On a positive note - Emma Schait has scored six goals in each of their last three games.
8. Port Washington (6-1)
They won both their games last week and are tied for second place at 4-1 in Conference I. Emily Rosenthal had five goals and two assists in a 12-7 win over Locust Valley, and she had five goals and an assist in their 17-6 victory over Hicksville. Port Washington will face East Meadow and Islip this week.
9. Cold Spring Harbor (8-2)
Welcome back. The Seahawks return to the "10" after winning four straight. They dominated Locust Valley (17-12) and Wheatley (15-1) last week, following a trip to Massachusetts on which they went 2-1. Cold Spring Harbor rebound from a 9-8 loss to Medfield with wins over Needham and Andover.
10. Syosset (8-3)
The Braves have won three straight since a loss to Plainedge and goalie Meg Gulmi has been on fire. She's made 51 saves in the three games (and Syosset has held its opponents to nine or fewer) and that includes a 22-save performance in a 14-5 win over Mineola. Syosset has some tests coming up in league opponents Farmingdale and Port Washington.
On the cusp: South Side, Plainedge, New Hyde Park
