Barclays ATP World Tour Finals not short on title contenders

The ATP World Tour Finals begin Sunday in London for the top eight in men’s tennis, with 1,300 rankings points for the winner (a Grand Slam runner-up earns 1,200 points).

Top-seeded Rafael Nadal, winner of the final three Grand Slams of 2010, has never reached this event’s final. Having sat out the Paris Masters to rest up, he may fill one of the final voids on his stellar resume.

Four-time champion and second seed Roger Federer looks to be a lock to get past the round-robin stage and into the semifinals, but the Swiss recently lost two big semifinals despite holding multiple match points.

U.S. Open finalist Novak Djokovic, the third seed, is concluding his most positive season since 2008, when Djokovic won the Australian Open. He will be a tough out for anyone.

Paris Masters winner Robin Soderling, the fourth seed, has a career-high No. 4 ranking, is fresh off the biggest title of his career and has a big-hitting game that excels on indoor surfaces.
