Breaking his silence about his alleged 36-hour coke-and-porn star binge last week, Charlie Sheen yesterday thanked those who have supported him while admitting he has a long road ahead.

“I have a lot of work to do to be able to return the support I have received from so many people,” the 45-year-old actor said in a statement, according to published reports.

“And to my fans, your good wishes have touched me very much. Like Errol Flynn, who had to put down his sword on occasion, I just want to say, ‘thank-you,’ ” said Sheen, who’s rehabbing at home.

Sheen’s first statement came as published reports said he’ll be back on his hit CBS show “Two and a Half Men” by the end of the month, after it went on hiatus following the incident that ended with him being rushed to the hospital with pain apparently stemming from a hernia.

Also yestrday, a tape of the 911 call Sheen’s doctor made after the actor’s stomach started to hurt was released. On the tape, Dr. Paul Nassif is heard saying that Sheen was “very, very intoxicated, also apparently in a lot of pain.”
