City pushes tourists to visit Bronx hot spots with campaign
The city will put Bronx hotspots in the spotlight as part of a plan to get tourists to the outer boroughs.
Starting Wednesday, NYC & Company, the city's tourism wing, will promote the Grand Concourse, Melrose and Mott Haven communities as part of its Neighborhood x Neighborhood campaign.
George Fertitta, the CEO of NYC & Co, said that save for Yankee Stadium, tourists rarely visit great destinations in the borough. So his company hopes its ads will help them look outside Manhattan.
"The South Bronx is a lively destination where visitors have the opportunity to visit a world-famous ballpark, dine at some of New York City's best restaurants and experience authentic Bronx culture, all in one visit," he said in a statement.
Specifically, the campaign, which will can be seen on NYC & Company's website, showcases Bronx General Post Office art gallery, the Pregones Theater and the Clock Bar.
