Ex-aide: John Edwards called pregnant mistress Rielle Hunter 'crazy'
In attempting to hide his affair with a campaign videographer, disgraced ex-Sen, John Edwards told an aide that his mistress Rielle Hunter was "crazy."
Just two days earlier, in 2007, Hunter had confessed to the surprised aide that the two were "were very much in love," according to reports. The revelations came during the testimony of yet another aide in Edwards' campaign finance corruption trial, which is seeking to establish whether Edwards used campaign funds to hide Hunter's pregnancy.
At the time, Hunter had already been dismissed from the campaign, after Edwards' cancer-stricken wife Elizabeth became suspicious of the affair.
"She told me she and John Edwards were very much in love and [Edwards] was concerned that I had seen her," former aide John Davis reportedly testified.
